"The answer... Someone will remember Murray and Kay. Thanks to Tom Coleman and the family research. Thanks Tom."

A comment on Calvert's new grave marker

Tom!

That is a beautiful marker! Thank you so much for doing this for great-grandfather Calvert M. Coleman. The Coleman family is so grateful for your effort and perseverance in  getting a marker for him at Hillside  Cemetery. You are a fantastic person, Tom!

We enjoyed meeting you  and Mike at our house. Seems like we've known both of you forever! It's funny that way. Some people "click" right away.

Again, thank you for getting that marker. No  one could have chosen a better one.

Love,

Clarice and Bob

A comment on the Family History Tour

Tom,

Wow! You did  so much while in Michigan! It takes us back to the times we walked cemeteries, jotted down names and dates, spent hours and hours at the Burton Collection in Detroit Public Library, etc., etc.  Isn't it fun???

So happy you connected with Les and Marilyn Coleman.....we always enjoyed visiting with them. And also connecting with Christopher Coleman....Dodd's grandson. I never could find out much on Dodd, except what was included in the Detroit City Directories. Thank you so much for all your work putting the pieces together.

This Family History Tour is wonderful! I'll have to read and re-read it to absorb all of the family history.

Good idea to get markers for Sarah Westfall Coleman and Calvert M. Coleman. I'm sure many of us will be happy to contribute.

Talk to you again.

Clarice and Bob

A message from a Basler relative

Hello,

I am trying to make connections with my tree. Casper and Samuel Basler were brothers who come to US about 1847-52. Samuel married Christina (Pfenning)Bieber and Casper married Catherine (Beiber). Yes brother's married sisters. They eventually settled in Michigan's thumb region, Sanilac, White Rock, Harbor Beach. Christina and Samuels daughter Emma is my great grandmother.

I hope we connect, please let me know.

Christina Richardson

My aunt Betty Coleman married Casper Basler (1916-1991). Uncle Cap was the son of Charles (b. 1878) and the grandson of Casper (b. 1830). I am doing a family history tour in April. Part of the tour will include an interview of my aunt Betty (now 92) and her oldest son Charles Basler. They live in Carsonville (near Port Sanilac). My family tree for the Baslers ends with Casper (b. 1930). I don't have info on his parents or siblings (except now you told me of Samuel). Where do you live?

Tara Coleman Skalnek commented on the website

I think we should try to find out cousins on Facebook. Get a big connection going. Everything on this website is wonderful. I love reading it because it takes me back in time to where I wish I knew how life was. I would be great if the other Colemanís could get an email with all this info and then telling them to join a group on Facebook so we could all get in contact.

Love Tara
(Tara is the daughter of Carolyn and grand daughter of Murray and Kay Coleman)

Tom,

Mom is here and the other person is Grandma Finney's sister, Aunt Bell Patterson. She never married, lived with her parents until they died and then moved in with Aunt Agnes.

Mom said she worked at the Bell Telephone Company for years and one night she fell off her stool and that is when she began taking fainting spells. Never found anything to help her out with them. I remember going to visit her in Canada as she was in a nursing facility.

Happy New Year to you and Michael!
